My 9 yr old daughter is a Girl Scout. Today I received GS-USA's magazine for Adult
leaders. It got me thinking about reaching out to these girls. "Empowerment" is a
key word in GS literature, and it seems to me that, as birth and breastfeeding
advocates, that is what we are really talking about. Empowering women to know their
options and speak their minds. So many of us are in this field because we ourselves
were empowered by birth, breastfeeding and mothering.
I am not very familiar with GS organizational structure, but I think there must be a
way that we can colloborate with them to get our message out to the girls of America
while they are still forming their ideas of body image, self-esteem, health, etc.
Any thoughts?
