Ameda makes the following claim in their marketing materials--
"...The patented
silicone diaphragm used in the Ameda HygieniKit Milk Collection System
creates a barrier that protects both collected breast milk from potential
contaminants, such as viruses and bacteria, that may be present in the pump
or kit tubing and pump and kit tubing from potential contaminants, such as
viruses and bacteria, that may be present in collected breast milk."
This claim is confirmed by the FDA. their pumps are designated single user
because of the capacity of the motor.
In any case, I thank you all who responded to my comments about sharing
single user pumps. Its always an education!
