My recommendations are:
drinking water to thirst
watermelon--lots of it, even if it *is* winter and they don't have much taste
cucumbers
apples
grapes
My client who had such terrible edema sent her husband out for all of the
above foods and she ate them steadily. She felt that it hastened the
resolution of the edema as she began a lot of urinating. She also limited
her salt intake.
