>Can anyone tell me where I can locate balloons by Medela that can be used
>to teach breastfeeding? Rebbecca Rosen RN, BSN, CBC
Hi,
I have seen those balloons. They are neat, but I think there are better
teaching tools out there. I try not to harp on the subject too much,
but...The numbers of people with a latex allergy are increasing. I have
seen estimates of up to 10% in the general (non healthcare workers)
population. I would never use a latex balloon in a class situation.
There is a chance of having an allergic person in the room, as well as
increasing exposure for those who aren't allergic.
Thanks,
Marita Nickison, RN, IBCLC
(and suffering with a major anaphylactic allergy to natural rubber latex)
