Won't it be wonderful when these are the recommendations when a
breastfed baby is given artificial milk against the mother's wishes or
by mistake ( or as we used to say " accidentally on purpose")?
I just had a mom write in my forum that her 5 month old had a really
serious reaction to artificial milk this week. She started working last
week and figured that she would stop breastfeeding and start giving
artificial milk. Pumping at work was not an option for her. The baby
went into anaphylaxis and was hospitalized in quite serious condition.
I asked her if the baby had been given artificial milk in the first few
days in hospital, and she said that, in fact, he was on that second
night when babies want to feed non-stop. This is the fifth such case I
have heard in the last few months. I wish these moms would start
thinking litigation!!

artificial milk last night which made my job just that much more
difficult today.
