Hi,
First of all I am a Doula, not a nurse and I have worked in STD clinics in
the past. I do not have the viral shedding rates memorized for herpes, but one
of the questions I would have, is has it been determined if this is herpes
simples one or two. I have seen virulent outbreaks of simples two on the face. For
some Simplex two can reoccur often and keeping a child from spreading it
themselves may be very difficult.
We need to remember that even if this can't be spread to the brain it can be
a debilitating illness that is life long. A 14 month old has a long life ahead
