One of our very pro-breastfeeding pediatricians shared an article with
me that was taken from the Louisiana Chapter of the AAP about the very
high breastfeeding rates in Norway. The article states that "today, 99
percent of Norwegian mothers nurse their newborns in the hospital. Six
months later, 80 percent are still nursing." His question for me was do
they recommend vitamin D supplements, and if not what is the incidence
of rickets? Does anyone have that information?
Thanks for any help in getting this information.
