What a great story ... I love hearing them ... I think when you let people have their moments of humor over breastfeeding you "win" more of them over and sometimes lead someone's thinking much more than lecturing ... had you lectured these guys I bet not one of them would have felt anything other than maybe "put down" ... now they are likely to repeat the story, with some humor, at family gatherings and maybe with other guys.  And, if you've read "Milk, Money and Madness" by Baumslag and Michels (no financial interest) there is a painting of a woman BF her father in jail to keep him alive!  So, your gentleman was right -- he should "belly-up to the chi chi bar" the next time he's sick!
