One of my third year medical students just asked me if I know of any journal
articles that document the percentage of true breast milk insufficiency vs.
perceived milk insufficiency in the United States. Are any of you aware of
any articles that document this? I know true milk insufficiency is extremely
rare and that is what I teach the students at my medical school, but are
there published studies that back up this claim? I am always encouraged when
medical students have questions like this for me and would like to get her a
solid answer. Apparently she has been discussing this with a doctor in the
field and he doubts her claim. Thanks. I'm hoping your collective knowledge
will provide the answer to this one.
