We recently had a Mom referred for IVP following a C/Section to rule out
post operative complications. She was 3 days postpartum and successfully
breastfeeding for the first time! The physician ordered her to "quit"
breastfeeding for 48 hours and discard all breastmilk following the
injection of dye. I have just returned to work and learned about this
situation. She was given Isovoue 300 which is a nonionic agent. Can anyone
provide me with information about the safety of this substance while
breastfeeding. I have never heard of this advice before... Pam Moro RN IBCLC
