Dear Jean,
I have no experience with cranio-sacral therapists, but several of my
clients have used occupational or speech therapists trained in Beckman Oral
Motor Assessment Skills. They check the babies for strengths and weaknesses
and give the parents simple exercises to do with the babies daily.
Non-invasive, no pain. See www.beckmanoralmotor.com . Hope you have trained
people in your vicinity. Why does this always seem to happen to the mothers
who have the nicest birth experiences and who care so much about
breastfeeding? Percocet from day one has seemed to be the only really
helpful pain reliever. I thank you for your post. I'm not the only one who
bends over backward to help mothers only to watch the situation remain the
same or worsen until we find outside intervention.
Happy Holidays,
Anne Grider, IBCLC, Marietta, GA
