Since Jan pointed out that the person calling herself LC was not IBCLC
perhaps those that received the mag. can send a note to the editor that the "LC" who
could not help was not an IBCLC would be nice. Pointing out the differences
between the label LC and IBCLC so that other mothers who are paying for help
will know who they should call. In my area there is a woman who offers
breastfeeding help for $75.00. She 'advertises' that she is not an IBCLC but
better---a mother who has nursed her own children. "She" did not learn from a book,
but from experience. Makes me scream. Anyway, since lactation falls under
the category of call yourself anything and it is so, she can do this. Sadly for
the mothers she is right, but her advertisement is not something to be proud
of. I think American Baby should offer some correct definitions of
breastfeeding help providers. An IBCLC would not have missed the red flags.

Thanks for pointing this out Jan.
