My dear friend Louise, from the UCLA Lactation Educator/Consultant Faculty,
shares e-mails with a select group. We received this one earlier this month and
I"d like to share it with you, since there was a connection here. Another
source of comment to Lamaze is an email address at the end of the post.

------
I wonder how many of you have received from Lamaze International and
iVillage copies of Lamaze Parents Magazine or its Spanish edition
Revista Lamaze Para Padres?

I have received both and unfortunately they came with WalMart
catalogues. The magazines themselves contain no formula or baby bottle
advertising. The WalMart catalogues have large adds for both formula and
bottles. Lamaze International is WHO Code compliant but iVillage who
partners with Lamaze International and distributes the magazines is not.
They were not authorized by Lamaze to distribute those catalogues but
did so anyway.

If you received the magazines and catalogues, and are disturbed as I was
(I walked the catalogues directly to my recycle bin) do let the
following people know in strong terms how you feel about this violation
of the WHO Code.
