Susan,
What is the proper dose of cod liver oil to supplement a baby with
vitamin D? The moms in my practice are going to love that suggestion.
When my generation were infants, we got "sunned" everyday in the big
coach carriage, out on the front lawn for several hours, while mom did
housework inside. I remember minding my siblings while they got their
sunbaths... Now we shudder to think of leaving a baby alone outside in
this city, even for a second. There's your environmental/social change.
I wonder if Motherlove herbals or some other company that is already set
up to make supplements (and can be trusted not to undermine
breastfeeding in promotion) would like to make a vitamin D only
preparation. Anyone have contacts in any such firm?
