Just a reminder that if you want someone else to get in on the DHHS
story or pick it up at all, YOU need to send that e-mail or that letter
or make that phone call.

We don't have a TV so I don't know who the guy on Fox is. (I DO know who
the Simpsons are though!) I love the comics so I sent the link for The
HILL piece and the link for the Hathor the Cow-Goddess cartoon to my
favorite political cartoonist. My husband was amazed -- he was reading
e-mails and here's a note from the cartoonist which says, "Ah yes - from
the same people who brought us selling formula to people in Africa who
don't have clean water." I don't know if he'll follow up with a cartoon
-- but I'm trying to do my little part.

And if you see ANY article in your paper with the word breastfeeding in
it (or I suppose breast-feeding...) follow up with a letter to the
editor, with as many initials or credentials as you can place there, if
you feel an "expert" opinion is called for. Newspapers like experts and
a pithy, short letter is likely to get printed. And if there's one thing
we are here it's pithy!

Growling in southern Vermont,

Dawn Kersula

Happy holidays to all my kindred spirits here!
