Valerie, you are also a valued contributor to this list! Your scholarship
and dizzying breadth of resources on industry and human milk components are
astounding and eye-opening, to say the least.
It is obvious that your deep convictions and dedication to this aspect of
the field of lactation have brought you much frustration. I don't believe
that you, or anyone else on this list, really and truly has a desire to be
divisive. It's just that sometimes impassioned intellectuals get carried
away with their ideals.
This has been said before, but it seems to bear repeating that the fantastic
diversity of educational and experiential backgrounds and cultures is what
makes this such a vital forum. If only we could do as someone (forgive me, I
forget who) suggested and compose our messages in our minds, then hit "send
later" when actually writing, so much of our discomfort might be eliminated
- but all of the rich content could continue to be savored.
Peace.
