Hi Pam,
The same thing seems to happen to me, about finding several tongue
ties in a row. Last week on Friday and Saturday there were 3 or 4
tongue tied babies, I started to wonder about my assessments. One babe
was clipped Sat morning by a Peds doc, when she said she would do it I
almost fainted, or jumped for joy. I'm kind of new at the hospital, 3
years part time, and don't know all of the 30 docs in a huge Peds
practice yet.
The clipping made a big difference for the baby, who had been
thrusting the tongue a lot with reverse peristalis. The mom was
pleased.
Kind of an ignorant comment....'trend'. aargh. Someone needs to
get updated.
