My pediatrician, who is very progressive, suggested cutting out night
nursing and no nursing before meals as a way to help my 13 month old regain
his growth curve. He weighs 19# 8 oz, healthy, etc. I am left confused b/c I
want to believe that night nursing is normal and that he will naturally
nurse and eat in proportion, and that these proportions will change as he
grows. Of course, each case is individual, but could anybody fill me in on
the "normalness/healthfulness" of night nursing (2-3 times/night) and weight
gain and proportion of breastmilk/food normal to that age? I haven't asked,
but I think she's using a curve that is appropriate to breast fed babies.
Thanks.
