One of the nurses here delivered a baby bay 6 wks ago. Her baby keeps his
tongue on the roof of his mouth.  The tip of the tongue goes up to the
middle of the palate keeping his mother's nipple from entering.  SHe says
the easiest way to get him to stop that is to let him suck on a pacifier and
then replace it with her breast.  This whole process takes him 10-15 min.  I
did not see her BF or note his tongue placement.  This is a nurse that is
very supportive of BF mothers and can get babies latched easily when they
will.  She nursed her first child 3 yrs ago successfully for some time.  She
gave me permission to ask you wise ones for more thoughts on the subject.
