Dear Friends:
I made a consult last week with a lovely first time mom and baby; mom
having some difficulty with the right side. In the course of learning how to
latch on that side, baby made a blood blister on the nipple, which popped, leaving
a slight wound. She rested that side for about 36 hours, and pumped, and has
been successful fixing the latch. Great work!
Except that the little sore hasn't healed. Turns out this highly educated
and motivated mom has been washing that nipple with full-strength hydrogen
peroxide 10 times a day. I bet the sore will heal quickly now that she has
stopped doing that.
warmly,
