Dear Friends:
How can a reflex require more than one stimulus?
A reflex is defined as:
'an automatic, unlearned, instinctive reaction to a stimulus'
'A reaction, involuntary movement or response to a stimulus applied
to the periphery and transmitted to the nerve centers in the brain or spinal
cord."
Dr. Karp posted, " However, for turning on the calming reflex of upset
babies the movement needs to be vigorous (in addition to swaddling and often
with white noise=added as well)."
Doesn't sound like a reflex to me.
