I appreciate the challenge, Ruth! Seeing as I am relatively new in the
post I have been treading very carefully. I have got the Training
Department to agree to invite Nils Bergman as a speaker - but - this has to
be arranged by the PR person who is dragging her heels!
But, on a one-to-one basis I have been able to encourage and support most of
our premie mothers and almost all our post-caesar mothers to practise some
skin-to-skin care. Our nursery now has a small "kangaroo corner". Of
course it is very frustrating and hard sometimes. This is when it is so
great to have Lactnet and realise that many of us work in situations where
we experience great resistance to change. Any and all ideas welcome!
