Hello Lactnuts, I will be giving a talk (in German - I´m already very
nervous) in Oct. about BFHI. Currently there are only 11 baby-friendly
hospitals in Germany and so I´m going to try and drum up some interest.
What I need from you all is some sources of eye-catching statistics
about why breastfeeding in industrialized countries is still so very
important . I´m thinking along the lines of Cunningham: children who
aren´t breastfed are 15x more likely to be hospitilized in the first 4
months of life. Or if there are estimates of what industrialized
countries could save in health care if the majority of babies were
breastfed. Should I also look in Milk money and Madness? Any other
sources of good information? Thanks alot for your help.
