  Thanks for posting your note about your client who is spotting
 while bfing and therefore, she and her husband are not available
to one another. I am not a Jewish legal authority, but I have done
some studying in this area. There are some sources, beginning with
the mishna (a Jewish legal text that dates to about the first century CE)
that say that when a woman is nursing (for the frist 24 months anyway)
any vaginal bleeding is not considered menstrual blood and therefore
the rules of niddah (separation during menstruation) do not apply. It
was assumed that nursing mothers do not menstruate. It seems to me
that your client's spotting would fall into that category. I do not
know about the community in which your client lives and which Jewish
legal authorities she consulted. If it is worth pursuing this, I will
try to find out more for you.
