Hi Everyone,
I've been learning so much from the recent SNS thread. It makes me realize
what a beginner I am though! I have a couple of really basic questions
that I'm wondering if someone would be so kind as to address.
1) How do you determine the amount of breastmilk vs supplement that the
baby is taking? Do you clamp the tube and do test weights and then open up
the tube and see how much extra the baby takes?
2) I've only seen the starter SNS from Medela. It's all our hospital
carries. I'm not sure what everyone is talking about when they refer to the
vent. Can someone fill me in?
3) Is anyone able to recommend a good review article on supplementation
devices/lactation aids? I have the info from Dr. Jack, but I'm wondering
if there is anything to supplement (no pun intended) that.....
Thanks! I don't know what I would do without this list!!
