Hi,
Further to earlier discussions on this list on IV fluids and their effects on the initiation of breastfeeding, I've just come across a journal article that discusses the issues surrounding the use of drips during labour and questions the rationales for their use. For those working in labour and delivery, this reference might be useful as would the references from the lit review.
Parsons M. To drip or not to drip? A literature review. Practising Midwife 2003 (October);6(9):25-27.
That's a British journal, the October issue.
I'm currently "nomail" and so can only be contacted off list.
Happy holidays to all of you,
Virginia
in Brisbane (and absolutely revelling in going for long walks, when it isn't too hot or raining)
