Dear Friends:
Dr. Poinsett makes an important point, that there are many kinds of
pediatricians. Every physician and midwife in my area that knows enough about
breastfeeding to provide competant care to any breastfeeding mother is a delightful
surprise.
I can also attest to a steady increase in the numbers of healthcare
practitioners with breastfeeding savvy since I started working in lactation in
1975.
However, they are still too few and too far in-between.
