BABY: Goats Milk Baby Formula
I have been told by midwifes that Goat milk is lacking in sufficient
amounts of folic acid and iron. If you choose to use goat milk.....get a
liquid iron supplement.
So I did a Google search for: goat's milk blackstrap
The first three appear to be on point.
The following is a cut & paste from the second listing. It was a series of
messages discussing breastfeeding & LLL, but offered this as a healthy
homemade formula:
---begin cut & paste---
Goat's Milk Formula
2 c. raw certified goat's milk 1 cup distilled water 1 1/2 Tbs.. lactose
sugar 1/8 tsp. cod liver oil, mint flavored, the Vitamin D helps the baby
absorb the calcium and the mint aids in digestion
You can also add blackstrap molasses to add more vitamins.
When we lived in WA I ran a licensed daycare. Several of the children were
on goats milk instead of formula....most recommend, raw and fresh from the
goat...not the stuff you get at the grocery store.
