Christine said,
Our two general surgeons (only ones in town) feel VERY strongly about
moms waiting 24 hours after surgery and pumping/dumping before
breastfeeding
Is it the policy of your hospital to make mothers who have had C/Sections or
PP tubal ligations to wait 24 hours after surgery and to pump and dump before
they can start breastfeeding? Or for that matter, any woman that has had
epidural anesthesia -- or Stadol or Nubain -- or Fentanyl in the epidural???
Perhaps you could approach it from that aspect. There are mothers that have
general anesthesia for C/Sections. What is the "rule" for them?
And what happened to giving the woman the evidence and letting her make the
decision?
