I came back from vacation to find that we now have new hospital
gowns.......the kind with the slits where the breasts are. Now, this might
be wonderful when you are wearing street clothes, but for hospital gowns, it
is awful. I find myself and the moms fighting all the cloth there. worse
than that, after hearing Nils Bergman's talks on kangaroo mother care, and
coming back with plans to strip all moms and put all babies in kMC position,
it is nearly impossible with these gowns. I have been able to slip very
small babies through the slits, but then you cannot see the baby at all.
Could any of you e-mail me privately and give me a picture of a gown the you
found to be wonderful for breastfeeding in hospital? Now that I complained,
I have to bring them an alternative. the gown has to be able to withstand
institutional laundry!!
TIA
