Hi Anne,
Anne asks:
When assisting a deaf mother to breastfeed................One thing
though....how do they know when their baby is crying?
hearing impaired mothers I have worked with either use slings or baby
monitors that light up (as well as have sound) if they have to put them down
(eg to have a shower etc)
As for swallowing they can feel a swallow by touching the baby's under the
chin/throat area gently
As for Sydney ILCA I couldn't agree more.......I only wish there weren't so
many concurrent sessions as I wish I could go to them all!! And there was so
many people there (just under 1000!!Fantastic eh?) that I wanted to catch up
with that I didn't get a chance to.......I hope it is not too long before we
see another ILCA Downunder!
Must go...Cheers
Karen Clements
