This wouldn't help a galactosemic baby, unfortunately. Galactosemic
babies have intact lactase anyway. The lactase drops would just split
the lactose into galactose and glucose, as does intestinal lactase.
What galactosemic babies lack is the GALT enzyme, galactose-1-phosphate
uridyl transferase, needed to further break down galactose. It is
galactose that is poison to the galactosemic baby, not lactose.
