We are in the process of looking at our policy. The issues in the forefront
are: containers approved for food storage, safety factors, ease of use, and
cost. We have used the speciman containers, but they are not approved for food
storage. I personally really like the Medela sterile bottles that limit
handling, but they cost more and would require the women to take them home and
sterilize them. This is not acceptable in my setting. We are considering Capital
Vial because it meets all criteria except limiting handling by being able to
pump directly into the container.
