The US Surgeon General's Workshop on Breastfeeding and Human Lactation was
in 1984 and there was a follow-up report, but no second meeting. The Surgeon
General's Blueprint for Action on Breastfeeding (2001) is available from the
Office of Women's Health web site www.4woman.gov and the CDC breastfeeding
site www.cdc.gov/breastfeeding. The US Breastfeeding Committee, formed in
1998, has been working on many some of the agenda items identified at that
