I, too, have problems with my management telling me that I am low on
productivity. They don't seem to take into account that I am the ONLY
lactation consultant for our hospital, see patients in SCN, OB and Peds,
as well as being called to other areas of the hospital, such as CCU or
ER. In addition to this, I run a pump rental and retail station. I do
all of this in 32 hours per week. They will not allow my hours to go up
to 36 because of "low productivity".

One of the things that was suggested to me by one of our charge nurses
- have a CNA follow me around for a couple of days and chart down
everything I do in a time study. I plan to do this. Have you thought
about this?

Brenda Phipps, BS, IBCLC
