Until you can get the IC people to "wise up" about breastmilk not
needing the same precautions as blood, perhaps they would consider
the new microwave sterilizing bags from Medela (I have no financial
connections with them). I suspect they would be expensive over
time, but at least it would keep breastmilk coming to the babies.
Before they switched to the newer "molded" containers, we used to
suggest moms use the plastic "box" the pump kit came in as a
"dishpan" to wash the parts in between feedings. This way they
weren't being washed where everyone washed their hands after using
the bathrooms. We still suggest it, but the newer packaging is more
of a challenge.
