Not only is a low hemoglobin normal for a person with Thalassemia, but that
person's body gets used to living with less iron. It is a genetic error and
doesn't need fixing (ie: push iron). I'd be more inclined to think that it
is a milk "transfer" problem and everything that Barbara just posted about
