Absolutely. 
What I was hoping to illustrate with my post is the fact that the 
culture/community from which the family begins has the biggest influence on how baby 
birthing etc, is conducted.   Reading it in a book is "idealistic" if they know of 
noone who practices it or if   the *risks* (hows that for Weissingerizing!) 
are not made "real" for them and their community by their hospital's 
philosophy, OB and/or their childbirth Ed/breastfeeding instructors. Handouts are but 
one example of how this could be done, I'm looking for other less obvious 
methods and innovative ways that we can bring the OBs and CNMs more into the loop!
