The questions was:
Hello all: I am looking for any organization's guidelines or position
paper regarding use of recreational drugs and breastfeeding. AAFP
discusses methadone, and perhaps others do, too.
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, www.camh.net has a 2003 publication called _Is it Safe for My Baby?_ which is about risk for prescription, OTC and recreation drugs during pregnancy and breastfeeding. They do tend to fall into the "don't do this if you're breastfeeding".
At a workshop I attended a few weeks ago, Thomas Hale gave some more detailed information about what's absolutely unsafe and what's only somewhat unsafe and how long to wait. However, that was a workshop and not a publication.
