Dear Friends:
Pam has been given a complicated assignment.
I am not aware of any studies but one looking at the impact of pitocin
on babies. There is one, in the Primal Health Data Bank that looked at the
impact of pitocin in labor on adult intelligence
(www.birthworks.org/primalhealth/).
There are studies that show the impact of epidurals is to lengthen
labor, and increase chances of operative delivery. It may be possible to show that
many women being induced with pitocin use epidural anesthesia. There are some
studies that look at the impact of operative delivery on babies.
The studies look at links of the chain.
Does anyone know of studies that directly link induction/pitocin with
problems in infants?
