>Correct me if I am wrong...isn't breast milk considered to be a "clear

I don't have references on the topic, just personal experience.
Each of my sons was circumcised at different times, 8 days, 6 weeks,
and about 2 weeks, by three different mohels (on two continents, for
whatever that is worth in terms of cultural differences.) In no
case was I told to stop nursing before the procedure and I nursed
immediately afterward for each of them as well.
Two of my sons had hernia operations, one at 2 years and one
at 8 weeks. This was done under general anesthesia. For the two
year old, I was told not to give him anything, including breast
milk for 2 or 3 hours before the surgery and for the one at 8 weeks,
I think it was about the same, maybe a little less, I don't quite
remember.
It may be worthwhile for you or the doctor to contact a mohel
with this questions. They are not usually doctors, but circumcsion
is all they do, so they know it quite well.
Hope this is helpful.
