At the risk of sounding ignorant amongst this extremely well educated group
here-- has anyone heard of a Lactoma?? A mom came to a LLL meeting this a.m.
with a 13 week old baby who seemed somewhat listless and is in the 10th
percentile of weight according her pediatrician. The mom said she has had persistant
plugged ducts, a couple of bouts of mastitis and a "Lactoma" that keeps
filling back up with milk. Her doctor has drained it, but it still fills back up.
She says she has very dense breasts and it is difficult for the dr. to even
"get the syringe in." Baby nurses about every 2-3 hours for at least 45
minutes each time because he falls asleep off and on during the feeding. She did
suffer from infertility and went through infertility treatment. She wants very
much to find a way to resolve this "Lactoma" but I feel this is not something
I am familiar with and am unsure where to go with this. Thanks, Ann
