Our family buys organic or certified non-hormone treated milk and
yogurt. If, due to some unforeseen event, one of my daughters would not
breastfeed, I would hope she could afford organic formula. rBST hormone
treated cows are a significant part of the US dairy industry. Neither
Canada nor Europe have approved this Monsanto hormone be given to their
dairy animals.

As to taste, my hairstylists young children can taste the difference and
much prefer their organic cows milk at home. Perhaps formula fed babies
would prefer organic also. Also, buying organic is our way of
supporting the entire organic food industry.

However, I have wondered how long it will be before a chemical company
says they have a hormone ready for women to take to make more breastmilk
just like these diary cows and claim it is safe. One way or the other,
the chemical/pharmaceutical companies are looking for ways to make more
money.
