While I agree that there is nothing that looks quite so relaxed as a
satiated breastfed baby, I have known effectively feeding BF babies who were
tense at the breast and tense otherwise, and cuddly bottle-fed babies who
gurgled, smiled, and seemed generally harmonious both within themselves and
with regard to everyone around them. Of course I will continue as always,
to strive to get all babies feeding well at the breast. But I hesitate to
imply to any mother that there is a level of contentment in a child *only*
attainable through feeding at the breast - even if it should prove to be
true. Sometimes it just doesn't happen and I don't want to add to that
mother's burden.
