My 16 year old son has his first girlfriend, and he asked her on their
second date how she intends to feed her babies. She said
"breastfeeding, of course!", so he's continuing to date her.
When my kids were young, they created a shared fantasy world, a whole
planet complete with political, social, industrial and scientific
systems. In this game, my son divorced his first wife because she was
unwilling to breastfeed and attachment parent their children. She did
express milk for him to feed to the baby, whom he had custody of. I
admit to regularly eavesdropping to hear what was on their minds. I
later talked to him about how play is a good way to work out problems,
and that in reality he can choose a wife who will be good to him and his
children, now that he knows how important that is to him. It looks like
he listened!
