Julia, why do you need a reference for this? It's basic physiology. Look in
the 5th edition of Lawrence, pg 80--it describes the autocrine control of milk
secretion and discusses FII, the feedback inhibitor of lactation which is
produced and functions at the mammary level. If milk is not removed from a breast
it will stop producing. The other breast, where milk is being removed, will
continue to produce.
