I am pleased that I was able to help Ginger a little bit in responding to
grand rounds by the formula company VP. Another thought comes to mind regarding
the flurry of company activity. Some of this is also part of damage control by
the formula makers to help defuse the fallout from the Fox Undercover
broadcast of the hazards of the DHA/ARA supplemented formulas. Fox Undercover did a
story on a baby that was hospitalized due to the diarrhea caused by one of the
new formulas. I have a video of the news segment and the transcript may be on
Fox's web site. I could see if I can get permission to duplicate the video and
send it to those of you who are due to have one of these formula sponsored
programs in your hospital or area. You could ask your local TV stations if they
would air it or perhaps show it sometime to the people who attend the event.
You can also download a short article on DHA/ARA formulas from the NABA REAL
website and take it with you to the event and read from it or pass it out to
those attending as part of a balanced presentation.

I catalog all of these formula company sponsored offerings (dinners,
in-services, conferences, raffles, cruises, etc) as part of the Code monitoring work
that NABA does here in the US. If you have one of these events going on in your
