Hi all:
My name is Suzanne Campbell, I am a nurse practitioner and IBCLC in CT at a private breastfeeding medical practice and I received a call on Friday regarding breastfeeding and breast cancer. The caller is pregnant, being delivered then having surgery 4 days after delivery, not definite when chemotherapy will start. Can she breastfeed? (I know chemotherapy is a direct contraindication, but what about between delivery, surgery, and until chemo starts? especially on the unaffected breast?) If anyone has ANY information on this I would appreciate it - ASAP. Thanks. Suzanne
