I recently attended a Breastfeeding Conference at Stony Brook University
Hospital where Paula Meier, RN, DNSc, FAAN, was the key-note speaker.
The topic was: "Breastfeeding the Premature Infant: Evidence Based
Care"
Paula Meier is the Director for Clinical Research and Lactation for
the Special Care Nursery at Rush-Presbyterian St. Lukes Medical Center
in Chicago.
During her conference, she made it clear to all attended she happily
provide assistance to anyone regarding NICU, Lacatation, etc.
She has created many of the hospital's NICU policies/practices
regarding lactation. She is also responsible for the Rush Mothers'
Milk Club which has a very high success rate with lactation with
low-income/minority women.
I hope this was of some help.
As always . . . .
Wishing you all the best!
--Kathy
