I wasn't sure from the original post whether or not the baby was
showing interest in eating "solids".  If so and the problem is
handling the food physically, I would suggest trying different
textures.  Some may do best with really "liquidy" foods-pureed and
mixed with some EBM or fruit juice.  Others may cope better with
something semi-solid.
If the problem seems to be that baby isn't interested, then I would
suggest Mom not make a big issue of it.  Have baby on her lap or in
a high chair at the table when everyone else is eating.  Put a
little finger food (such as well-cooked, soft carrot pieces) on the
tray or if baby is in Mom's lap, watch for signs that baby is trying
to reach for what Mom is eating and offer something, perhaps even
having baby lick a little off Mom's finger.Babies do like to
imitate, so if everyone makes a big deal of "yum, this is good" baby
may begin to take more interest.
 We used to talk about LLL babies getting their first solids at
League metings when they would grab for the snacks that Mom was
eating while holding baby.
